The unique Airfloor® system offers an effective method of providing air through a concrete floor – a surface you can drive on, providing oxygen for optimal composting, surface water collections and leachate drainage.

The Airfloor® system can be used for active composting, compost curing or for biofiltration, and is suitable for in-vessel composting, aerated static pile (windrow system) as well as compost bunker installations.

The floor is simple to construct and can be designed to support an industrial loaders. The system uses standard plastic piping, yet is completely customizable, allowing users to change the distance between aeration pipes as well as the hole sizing and spacing. The top of the Airfloor® profile can be used as a screed to ensure level concrete placement. The profile is also designed to serve as a practical leachate collection system and is designed to minimize risk of air-hole blockage.

This graph shows oxygen concentrations in the core of a 9 ft wide and 6 ft high composting bunker, equipped with Airfloor® and a timer and temperature feedback system. Core temperature was maintained at 71C. The microbes are rapidly using the oxygen provided by the aeration system.
